Terms of use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Social Security GPS, LLC ("Social Security GPS," "we," "us," or "our"). They apply when you access or use socialsecuritygps.com, our educational resources and forms, the Social Security GPS calculator, an account, a subscription, a report, or another related feature (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Scope and additional terms

These Terms apply to both the public website and the calculator. A subscription, trial, order, firm account, or other product feature may also be subject to plan, billing, privacy, data-processing, or other terms presented to you before enrollment or activation. Those additional terms are incorporated into these Terms. If they conflict with these Terms regarding a specific product feature or commercial term, the more specific terms control.

2. Accounts and authorized users

You must provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in credentials and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe an account or credential has been used without authorization.

You may use an account only as authorized by the applicable plan or enrollment terms. You may not share credentials with an unauthorized person. If an organization provides your access, that organization may manage access and permissions in accordance with its agreement with us.

3. Calculator purpose and functions

The calculator is an educational planning tool. It allows users to enter client or household information and assumptions, create and compare Social Security claiming scenarios, and review projections that may include estimated benefits, break-even comparisons, cumulative benefits, and individual or combined lifetime benefits. Where available, users may save scenarios and download or share reports.

Features may vary by plan, account, or product version. Only features expressly made available with your plan are included in your access.

4. User inputs and client information

You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and lawful use of information entered into the calculator. Calculator results depend on the information and assumptions provided. Review and update them as circumstances change.

If you enter information about a client, spouse, household member, or another person, you represent that you have the authority and any consent required to do so. Financial professionals and organizations remain responsible for complying with the laws, privacy obligations, professional standards, and client agreements that apply to them.

You retain any rights you have in information you submit. You authorize us and our service providers to process that information as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and support the Services, comply with law, and enforce these Terms, subject to the applicable privacy notice and any product-specific data terms.

5. Educational information, not individualized advice

The Services and calculator results are provided for general educational and informational purposes. They are not financial planning, investment, legal, accounting, tax, insurance, medical, or other professional advice and do not create a client, advisory, fiduciary, or professional relationship with Social Security GPS.

Your circumstances may involve facts or rules not addressed by the Services. Consult the Social Security Administration ("SSA") for official benefit and eligibility determinations and qualified professionals for advice within their fields. A financial professional who uses the Services remains responsible for reviewing the information, explaining assumptions and limitations, and making any professional recommendation.

6. No government affiliation

Social Security GPS is a private business. It is not SSA, is not affiliated with or endorsed by SSA or another government agency, and cannot file an official claim or determine eligibility or benefits on SSA's behalf. A calculator report is not an official SSA statement or determination.

7. Estimates, assumptions, and no guarantees

Calculator results are estimates based on user-supplied information, selected assumptions, and rules and data available at the time. Actual eligibility, benefit amounts, taxation, longevity, household circumstances, and other outcomes may differ. Laws, regulations, administrative guidance, or benefit calculations may also change.

Scenario comparisons, break-even calculations, cumulative estimates, and lifetime projections may not account for every factor unless the result expressly says otherwise. We do not promise that use of the Services or selection of a particular scenario will maximize benefits, produce a specific result, prevent loss, or be suitable for every person. SSA determines actual eligibility and payment amounts.

8. Subscriptions, trials, billing, and cancellation

If a paid plan or trial is offered, the price, trial period, payment timing, taxes, renewal terms, cancellation process, refund terms, and included access will be disclosed in the applicable enrollment or order terms. Those specific terms control. Submitting a public contact or information-request form does not by itself create a subscription.

9. Limited license and acceptable use

Subject to these Terms and any applicable plan restrictions, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services for your own personal or internal business purposes. You agree not to:

• Use the Services unlawfully, fraudulently, deceptively, or to harm another person;
• Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, authority, data, assumptions, or calculator results;
• Share credentials with unauthorized people or exceed applicable account, user, or usage limits;
• Sell, sublicense, rent, or provide the Services as a service bureau unless we authorize it in writing;
• Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover the source code, calculations, or non-public operation of the Services except where applicable law does not permit that restriction;
• Bypass security, gain unauthorized access, test vulnerabilities without written permission, or interfere with operation;
• Introduce malicious code or scrape, harvest, or access the Services through automated means in a way that is disruptive or not authorized by us; or
• Copy, republish, or commercially exploit protected content except as these Terms or applicable law permits.

10. Reports and sharing

A report may include calculator inputs, assumptions, estimates, and scenario comparisons. Before relying on or sharing a report, you are responsible for checking its accuracy, providing appropriate context, protecting personal information, and confirming that the recipient is authorized to receive it. Removing, obscuring, or altering a disclosure in a way that makes a report misleading is prohibited.

11. Privacy and security

Our Privacy Policy describes information collected through the public website. Calculator-specific privacy, storage, retention, access, and security practices will be described in the applicable product privacy notice, data-processing terms, or other disclosures provided during enrollment.

No system or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for using appropriate device security, protecting credentials, limiting account access, and using the Services in accordance with your own privacy and security obligations. Do not submit Social Security numbers, financial-account details, or other sensitive personal data through public website forms.

12. Intellectual property and feedback

The Services, including our software, calculation methods, brand, logos, design, text, graphics, and other original content, are owned by Social Security GPS or used with permission and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Services under these Terms, no license is granted. This section does not transfer ownership of information you submit.

If you provide feedback or suggestions about the Services, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation to you.

13. Third-party resources

Links to SSA and other third-party sites are provided for convenience and reference. We do not control or endorse all content, products, availability, or practices on external sites. Third-party terms and privacy notices govern those services.

14. Availability, changes, suspension, and termination

We may maintain, update, change, suspend, or discontinue a Service or feature. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the Services or other users, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, or address a violation of these Terms. Product-specific terms will govern any applicable notice, termination, data-export, or data-retention rights.

We try to keep the Services useful and current but do not warrant that they will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, complete, or current.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services and their content, calculator results, and reports are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Social Security GPS and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits or data; or loss arising from reliance on the Services, calculator results, or reports. Any direct liability relating to the Services will be limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid to use the Services during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal law or non-waivable local law applies. Any dispute relating to the Services must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Alaska unless the parties agree otherwise.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Continuing to use the Services after revised Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
